Purpose:
The goal of this research is to develop new diagnostic and treatment options for patients living with Type 1 Diabetes by analyzing biomarkers such as genetic, environmental, and microbial factors that may influence the disease's development
Length:
30-45 minutes
You may qualify if you:
- Are between the ages of 18 and 30
- Have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes
- Are currently taking insulin management treatment
- Live within 4 hours of Cambridge, MA
You may not qualify if you:
- Are pregnant
- Have a known history of HIV, hepatitis or other infectious diseases
- Experienced excess blood loss including blood donation defined as 250 mL in the last month or 500 mL in the last two months
- Are currently on steroids or other immunosuppressive medications
- Have received any immunoglobulin treatment or blood products in the last 3 months
