Purpose:

The goal of this research is to identify non-invasive biomarkers associated with pulmonary arterial hypertension and to compare the biomarkers between patients and across time.

30-45 minutes

Do I Qualify?
You may qualify if you:
  • Are between the ages of 18 and 85, inclusive
  • Have been diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH)
  • Have undergone diagnostic right heart catheterization (RHC)
  • Live in the United States
You may not qualify if you:
  • Are pregnant
  • Have a known history of HIV, hepatitis or other infectious diseases
  • Experienced excess blood loss including blood donation defined as 250 mL in the last month or 500 mL in the last two months

Will I be compensated for my time?
As compensation for your time, we will provide you with a $100 prepaid gift card for each home visit you participate in, for a total of $300. You will receive the gift card after each at-home appointment is completed.

When can I withdraw from the study?
You can withdraw from the study or decline participation at any time without providing a reason.

Why should I participate in an at-home research study?
The reasons are endless. By participating in an at-home research study, you are part of a process that may help researchers detect diseases earlier, and develop new therapeutics, diagnostics, and treatments that may save thousands of people each year.

Is my information kept private?
Your safety and privacy are our primary concerns. All private health information (PHI) provided to Sanguine is kept confidential and coded, so no one can identify you or connect you with your medical information. No samples we share with researchers contain any information that can directly identify you. We implement policies and procedures to protect your PHI in compliance with the law. If you want to learn more about your privacy rights, please see our privacy policy.

Do I need to have health insurance?
No. You do not need to have health insurance in order to qualify for the study. However, to participate in most studies, you will need to provide proof of your diagnosis. Even if you are not currently seeing a physician, you can still sign an authorization for Medical Record Release from your former physician that can serve as proof of diagnosis.
